Second Biennial Alfred Benninghoven Award Call for Nominations

The Alfred Benninghoven Award will be presented at SIMS XXV in Guangzhou, China (October 25–30, 2026). This award honors individuals who have made significant contributions to Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS) and related techniques, including groundbreaking inventions, discoveries, advancements, or sustained impact on the community.
	Eligibility:
The award is open to all, except current members of the International SIMS
Conference Committee and the Alfred Benninghoven Award Committee.
	Award Details:
The winner will receive a € 5,000 (EUR) cash prize, a plaque or medal, and an
honorary lectureship at the SIMS Conference. Travel expenses to the conference
will be reimbursed. The award is conferred biennially.
	Nomination Process:
Members of the SIMS community may submit nominations. Applications should
include:
• A motivation letter
• The nominee’s CV
• Optional support letters from respected academics or industry leaders
	Award Committee:
The committee is appointed by the International SIMS Conference Committee.
Members of the Award Committee cannot nominate or support candidates.
